Zihan Huang.

I grew up in Shefan, in Wenzhou, a village on the coast of Zhejiang.
There was, for a long time, one television in my family.
I would sit very close to it.
I think I was looking at the way the light came out of the glass.

Some things never left.
I am still held, quietly and almost feverishly,
by two things at once: technology, and beautiful objects.
They tend to be the same thing.
It took me a while to see that.

I studied design, then design management.
I work now as a product designer at ByteDance, in San Jose.
I go back to Wenzhou when I can. To Shefan, when I can.

I made this site so I would have a room of my own.
I call it the study.
Now is a daily note, kept on my behalf by Rex.
